The Summer of MAC

It's no secret that I, like most makeup/color fiends, L-O-V-E MAC Cosmetics. I mean the products are amazing and, sometimes, I think it's much more fun going to the actual MAC stores rather than the counters at your local Macy's. I've been known to dip into the MAC store in SoHo when I'm feeling a little down just to browse and chat to my fave makeup artist (Cheddar.."like the cheese"...his words, not mine lol).

With all of the releases this year, you'd think I've gone broke. It seems that every time I bat my lashes, MAC is releasing a new collection! But honestly, after my Hello Kitty haul I haven't really been diggin' the collections MAC has released. I did fall for Grand Duos blush but my experience with that wasn't too awesome. The only thing that prevented me from returning it was the fact that I lost my darn receipt. And then there was the Cremeteam purchase but that wasn't a massive haul. I was planning and waiting patiently for Style Warriors but when I saw the collection in person, I must say I was disappointed. Nothing screamed "BUY ME!" So I bought nothing :(

But Summer '09 seems to be the Summer of MAC because the collections are TDF- To Die For! Although technically these count as MAC's Fall 2009 collection they are being released during the summer (confusing, no?). So in celebration of the Summer of MAC...it's officially MAC Week at MissWhoever You Are-ville (we need a shorter name for this little town of ours...MissWYAville?? MissWhoville??)
I wasn't always into MAC to be honest. My first lipgloss was the infamous Nymphette and to be honest, I didn't like it. Of course this was back before I appreciated any color and clear gloss was the shizz. I remember going to Macy's to the MAC counter because all of the girls in my high school carried a MAC compact, and dammit I wanted one! No one told me how pricey that MAC compact was and the MUA felt a little sad for me and introduced me to a lipgloss that "has just a little bit of color so your mom won't get mad at you" (did I mention my mom was quite strict and did NOT want her little girl walking around with red/pink/anything not natural lips). I'll never forget it. As a matter of fact, I still have that lipglass and while it may no longer perform as it used to, I still cherish it. (kinda sad)

But enough with the memories (for now). Everyday this week I'm going to give you the deets on MAC's upcoming collections and of course, my opinion. ;)

This is going to be fun, ya'll.
