Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2007

AHHHHHHH...it's that time of the year again..and I don't just mean the holidays! Yep the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. While it's not your traditional fashion show, I must say, I STILL LOVE IT! IT'S FREAKIN' FABULOUS! The models, the lingerie (and yes they do sell what they model...just without all the costume-y stuff...for example the Secret Embrace bra is amazing and was in the show).

Anywhoo...there were six segments(Blade Runner, Age of Elegance, PINK, Rome Antique, Sureally Sexy, and Deck the Halls) and I managed to get some pics from each of them. I can't wait for the actual show!

It's tough that little old Ms. Bündchen (Gisele)contract expired (or they didn't renew it..whatever the story is). But nonetheless the pics are phenomenal and I am REALLY happy that Selita is seen way more this year.

Blade Runner:

Age of Elegance:

I am in LOVE with the floppy hats in this segment! I want them!!!

PINK:
This is actually my FAVE part of the show...I actually have that necklace around
Lindsay Ellingson's (girl in the blue with the white hat) neck. It's more of like an ID tage on a necklace...

Rome Antique:
I luuurrrvvv the trains on these outfits...and Alessandra Ambrosio is my icon..luv her...

Sureally Sexy:
This is my first time seeing Jessica White in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show..hmmm

Gotta love the music notes on Heidi's outfit...LOVELY. The connection between fashion and music is so obvious. Also the violin (guitar..I don't know, one of those) on Jessica's outfit is quite clever. The little (or rather..not so little) hand that goes across the bra on Selita..naughty.

Deck the Halls:
this deals with the whole Christmas theme...in case the name didn't give it away :)

I love that Heidi walks out to Seal singing to her..but they also did that in the 2005 show so...but I guess its kinda hard to keep thinking of creative ideas.

As for performances...I hear it wasn't as great as last year when Justin performed. Also Kanye was supposed to perform but due to the unexpected death of his mother, Donda West (may her soul rest in peace), he was replaced with Will.I.Am (from Black Eye Peas). And you can't forget, the comeback appearance...you ready...SPICE GIRLS!!!! (screams screams and more screams...I know...). Now I don't know about you but...I'm excited. Hell if you can't get tickets for their comeback shows (I've heard stories of paying $135 for standing seats...and thats buying the ticket early...) you might as well enjoy it on your tv (for free).

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on december 4th at 10pm.

OH AND DON'T FORGET! the annual Supermodel Tote is back:

You know I'm there!

7th on Sale

ahh yess...its what I will be saving my pennies for next year, however, this year is well on its way. The annual 7th on Sale designer sample sale started on November 16...just the thought of those $925 Christian Louboutin shoes being sold for $275 brings me to tears.

More than just a sample sale, its a designer sample sale with 100% (that's right...100%) of the profits going to HIV/AIDS education and awareness.

The Ney York sales are over (the 16th to 18th) and now there are ongoing ebay auctions until December 6th (anyone in need of a new Nicole Miller handbag...on auction for $60 at this moment).

Visit http://www.7thonsale.ebay.com/index.html for all the great things being sold. I have my eye on that Dolce & Gabbana shades on sale...I called it!

So starting this year...I vow to save money so next year I can show you all my great findings at the actual NY shoping days (I hear Anna Wintour was on deck elping shoppers out). Maybe I'll get my Louboutin heels after all =)

I Haven't Neglected You...

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I wish I had some fantastic tale as to why I haven't posted in almost a month but quite honestly...I don't.

You know how right when you think things couldn't possibly get worse...they do- well yeah...that has been the story of my life this past month.

My grades are at an all time low...my internet is down and I've resorted to writing my term papers (and this blog) on my Sidekick (thanks T-Mobile!- now I just want the upgraded version...the Sidekick Slide...ITS BLACK AND PURPLE! *sigh* if only I had the $300 to boot).

But enough with the woe is me nonsense...

One thing that has been on my mind is effort...I feel that I should get an A+ for effort in all my classes...heck I commute 2hrs each way (4hrs total) 3days a week...if that's not putting in effort, I don't know what is.

But I feel that I should give Harper's Bazzar and A for effort. Now I love me my Harper's Bazaar (I nearly had a coronary when I saw Ms. Bailey herself going into the Tents in September). This past November's issue featured Naomi Cambell and Chanel Iman in two separate spreads...that really counts (and helps) in the crusade of putting more black models in the pages of high fashion mags. So kudos!

But...and there's always a but...

Why is it that the December issue doesn't do the same?...now I'm not asking that only black models be featured but can we at least get one? Simply doing it for one month only because you've been called out means nothing...my hopes soared when I was readin my November issue...only to find that it was done only to pacify the crowd outside...if they were going to do that the they might as well have done what Vogue did-nothing. The November issue of US Vogue didn't feature black models because of the backlash in October. So technically I have more respect for Vogue 'cuz they stayed true (although I realllyyyy wish they'd stay true and put black people in they're magazines...what are we not good enough?). This is where Harper's A for effort goes down to a C-... Elle mag tried too...they had a little section on what's-her-face from KCD PR...nice try Elle.

Anywhoo...the moral of my rant...if you're going to do something, do it full out. Not just once a year. Or just 'cuz you were called out...

Quote of the Day

"You can be successful and have enemies or you can be unsuccessful and
have friends"

Not quite fashion-esque..but still..."American Gangster was fantastic
and I find this quote to be verrryyyy interesting.
