mark mists Juicy Body Fragrance

Yesterday, summer decided to show itself in NYC. It was nice, sunny, and hot. Most importantly...no rain! But the heat did remind me of how uncomfortable I get when it's hot.

Enter mark mists. At $10 (for a 3.2 oz), these delicious-smelling mists refresh the skin. They contain real fruit extracts and leave the skin feeling hydrated and conditioned. The scents available: Juicy Peach, Luscious Mango, Tangerine Squeeze, and Very Watermelon.

Honestly, for $10 I can go into Bath & Body/ The Body Shop/ Victoria's Secret and grab something that comes in a larger size. But the mark mists are great for carrying around in your purse to refresh throughout the day.

Tip: put your body mist in the fridge so when you take it out it's really cool and super refreshing. A true summery delight.

H&M; Haul

Ok, so the title is somewhat misleading. It's not really much of a haul. It's two items but this is such a shopping conquest!

After getting out of work and before meeting my friends for dinner, I stopped by H&M to check out what they had on sale. Bad bad bad idea!

Large Clutch:

This is a mega clutch with straps inside so it turns into somewhat of a messenger bag. It's light pink, beige and light green. It's perfect for when I just want to go out without carrying an oversized shoulder bag. I love the fact that the straps can go inside the bag (or be removed altogether) so I have a clutch. This can hold LOADS of stuff, so no more carrying just my BlackBerry, credit card and lip gloss =)

The best part:
It went from $25 to $5. Amazing.

Next I saw this Oversized Handbag and thought LOVE LOVE LOVE. So of course I snapped it up with the quickness. I love any handbag that can carry my life. I really do. Since I commute to my college, I'm used to carrying all of my books for the day plus an extra sweater, food, wallet, planner, makeup bag, small umbrella...the list goes on. Basically I have to be prepared for the day.

This has translated to my everyday life- when I'm not running to class. I always carry an extra sweater (I'm always cold). I also need a bag big enough to shove any little purchases made throughout the day (I have to hide any proof of shopping from my mom or she'll freak out on me for not saving blah, blah, blah).
Look how deep this bag is!!! It seriously holds a lot (which also has it's negative side as I tend to overstuff my bag causing back pains).
Now...the part you've been waiting for...

HOLLA!!!!

You're eyes aren't lying bellas! I paid $10 for this. I'm still smiling from this experience. I paid $15 for two amazing handbags, that'll most likely last me a while. If you haven't checked out your local H&M I suggest you run, don't walk, over there now! The sale has been going on for a while now so items are going fast. While you're there be on the lookout for any items remaining from the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection.

At the H&M on Fifth Avenue (upper Fifth location) in NYC there were still some clothes that had been marked down- which kind of sucks for those who went on the day of the release and paid full price because that was last month...haha. The only thing I wanted from that collection were the sunglasses and I didn't see any instore.

Good luck! Happy Shopping! =) Let me know of any recent conquests you've done- H&M or not!

Get the Look: Erin Lucas

Stella McCartney Spring 2009

Spotted all over the runways were the oldie but goodies, such as the jumpsuit. I know there were a lot of people groaning at the sight of such an outfit, but I am rejoicing! If there's one thing I am determined to show off this summer it's my legs. And the jumpsuit is the way to go. Trust me.

Erin Lucas (The City) was spotted rocking the trend in a bright orangey coral color at the preview of a custom silk screening t-shirt studio at Tommy Hilfiger Boutique in East Hampton.

If you're on the shy side, opt for a darker color and jazz it up with accessories:

Adam Wrap Silk Jumpshorts, Intermix, on sale for $249

Forever 21, Satin Corset Jumpsuit $24.80

If you're a bit riskier (do it!) get something in a fun, bright, punchy color for the summer:
Black Halo Rihanna Romper, Shopbop $325

Newport News Short Jumpsuit $11.99

2009 BET Awards Pre Event: Rocsi and the Cupcake Clutch

I stopped watching BET freshmen year of HS...back in 2002. Lately though they have caught my attention with their show "My Black is Beautiful". I'm all for supporting shows that encourage women of color to embrace their beautimous self ;)

Why am I talking about BET all of a sudden?? Because tonight is the 2009 BET Awards and I intend on watching simply for the MJ tribute (RIP Michael Jackson).

Check out Rocsi, hostess of the show 106 & Park, rocking the Judith Leiber cupcake miniaudiere (came out last year) at the BET Awards Pre Event.

I love anything cupcake related and when I first saw this clutch last year (Katy Perry wore it to the 2008 MTV Awards) I was drooling! It is much smaller than anything I've ever carried- probably can carry a credit card, lip gloss and a key if you're lucky- but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Sadly it's unavailable at Neiman Marcus and quite honestly, the $4,295 price tag is a bit more than I can handle.

Her dress and shoes combo on the other hand...

'The Fashion Show' Season Finale Spoiler Alert Pt. 2

More about "The Fashion Show"...

If you're just tuning in, I had the chance to be in the audience of the taping of the season finale of 'The Fashion Show'. Read Part 1 to catch up on what you missed! This is where the designers showcased their collection to the judges and audience before the winner is revealed. I am going to show you, in this post, the work of Merlin, Johnny R., Anna, and Reco.

Merlin: We all know Merlin is over the top, a little kooky, and quite extreme in his designs so I was anticipating something just that. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Was it wearable? No. Was it fantastic? Yes. He was inspired by the 1940's but wanted to turn it into a futuristic eel. There was a mix of greens and oranges, tulle and metallics.

Johnny R.
Johnny really surprised me. Out of all the designers I walked away remembering his collection as one that I'd actually wear. We've seen him struggle throughout the competition and I think this final show proved to the judges that he has actually learned something while on the competition. He was inspired by the punk era and early skinheads. This collection is edgy, young and modern. There were lots of short skirts, blacks, and ripped tights. My one issue with this collection is that it reminds me a little too much of Alexander Wang. That could have been the reason why I loved it so much- I'm a huge Alexander Wang fan. Also one piece from the collection was just totally not for me and I want to say a little coycat-ish. The gorilla arms trend that was on the Fall 09 runways- Dolce & Gabbana, Miss Sixty, Marni, Salvatore Ferragamo- has made its way into Johnny Rodriguez's collection. ick..I'm not a fan.

My fave look:
Other than those issues...I loved it. Do I think he'll win? No. Not based off of this collection and when compared to what the other designers have done. This is one of those seen it all before type of shows.

Anna:Anna's collection was inspired by the painting "Garden of Earthly Delights" by Bosch. She said seeing the painting made her "happy" and so she just wanted something that would reflect that mood.

I won't lie, at first I thought it was just a wee bit boring but towards the end...WOW. There are a mix of knits and metallic. This collection would best be described as womanly.

Reco:
Reco is my favorite because o his attitude and his love for glamour. Watching his collection, part of me expected more. Was it beautiful? Hell Yes. Would I wear it (if I could afford it)? Hell Yes! But I feel that some of the designers blew it out of the ballpark. I really feel that he could be in final 2 designers but..

Ladies and gents'...I present a future wedding dress (if I can't afford the one I really really want by Reem Acra)..haha..

All right that concludes Part 2!! Part 3 will be up soon...stay tuned!
