Pucker Up Wednesday: Wet 'n Wild, Wild Shine Lip Lacquer

Welcome to another Pucker Up Wednesday where I dish on my great- and not so great- lip products...anything from lip liners, lipstick, and the ever wondrous lip gloss.

Ahhh...another edition of Pucker Up Wednesday. I'm getting good at this haha.

This week up for review is Wild Shine Lip Lacquer by Wet 'n Wild.

I found this whilst browsing Rite Aid on my way home after school last week. I wasn't planning on purchasing anything but after I saw the price tag on these, I just had to buy it.

As per the website:
Absolutely mesmerizing! With a luxurious fusion of lustrous color and magnetic sheen, wet n wild's Wild Shine Lip Lacquer gives you the color of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss. So turn your everyday pout into stunning, polished brilliance!

My review:
LOVE.
That's it. The color I bought was #926- Flirtatious. Flirtatious is a lovely mid-rosy-brown, similar to my Creme in Your Coffee by MAC. I'm really trying to diversify my lippie color range (though one would argue that I already have TOO MUCH lippies to begin with). I have a million pinks and this makes my second rosy brown color.

For $2.99, I got a really good color payoff and a long lasting shade. It's definitely not a statement, look-at-me, color but it makes a PERFECT nude color for my brown skin.

The formula, at first, was a little drying but after prepping my lips with a little bit of balm this was great. I kind of wish I can just put it on straight out of the tube rather than prep my lips- but that's just due to the fact that my lips are terribly dry and chapped during the winter (ick)

It's definitely not greasy or heavy and lasts for a rather long time for a $3 lipstick. It fades away quite nicely and remains on the lips in a stain-like fashion before it goes totally kaput. It doesn't stand up to eating, but I didn't expect it to. Not many lippies do. It also has a tendency of feathering but I found that when I line my lips with Too Faced Border Line Anti-Feathering Lip Pencil that problem goes away.

My one gripe with this product is the packaging. There's about a half an inch of product that is exposed in the tube (no need to twist the lipstick up for the first couple of uses). The product isn't hidden in the tube and having that much of the lippie is a mess waiting to happen. I kinda wish it was like most tubes of lipstick and have the actual product within the tube rather than so exposed. I've already nicked it when trying to place the cap over it.

This is how much product is exposed WITHOUT twisting the tube

Another issue are those horrible plasticky stickers- when you peel them it leaves that nasty residue and ugly streaks. It's not the cutest thing pulling this baby out on the train to touch up and having all these silvery white streaks on my rather sleek lipstick tube.

A good thing about the packaging, however, is that the cap stays on tight. I haven't had an issue where the cap goes flying off the tube and into my makeup bag...yet.

Overall rating: A+++

I would definitely recommend this to a friend (you guys!) At $2.99, it's quite fun and affordable. There are loads of other colors that I'm itching to try. I'm addicted. It's now a staple.
