of course you do and if you said no, you’re a liar! (or you have botox)
For the past month, I’ve been using Dove Clinical Protection to combat the city’s super gross heat. The good news? It works! The bad? It doesn’t last as long as I’d like in extreme heat (for example, 90 degrees + humidity and the NYC subway systems).
Admittedly, I sweat a LOT and am used to it (former athlete and all) so I’m always searching for deodorant that can keep up. I’ve resorted to using men’s products because they work better — and who cares if I smell like a dude all day. Dove Clinical Protection keeps the sweat at bay, leaves me feeling fresh and doesn’t have that icky white residue so I’m not afraid of raising my arm in a sleeveless top. Huzzah!
As I mentioned before, in extreme cases of heat this guy waves the white flag at the end of the day and I don’t blame it. When a product moisturizes, doesn’t irritate my skin post shave and gives me a solid six hours worth of protection, beggars can’t be choosers.
To act like I don’t sweat would be the same thing as saying I can live life without cheese fries. Lies. All lies.
It is this constant sweating (what? I’m a former athlete) that often makes a girl self conscious. The worst part is when you leave the house, fresher than ever, only to have to run for the bus/ train/ what have you and BOOM! Full on beast mode. You can’t help it…it’s your body doing it’s thang. What you can help is the deodorant you use to combat life’s unexpected emergencies.
Thankfully, the kind folks at Degree Women have got your back, (-er armpits? ) with their new Degree Women Expert Protection with motionSENSE™.
This new line of antiperspirants features motionSENSE™ technology, which contains motion activated micro-capsules that sit on the surface of the skin. What does this mean?? Once friction takes place or you start to move, the capsules break and release little bursts of freshness. So you’re taken cared of even BEFORE you start running for that bus.
Duh.
I’ve been using this product for a full two weeks and I must say I like it. Not only does it fight excessive sweating- I’m not left drenched after moving around all day- but I smell clean. The scent isn’t overpowering, nor does it interact or fight with my perfume. It simply does its job without getting in the way. I like walking home at night knowing that I still smell as great as I did in the morning. With warmer weather (hopefully) approaching soon, I can definitely see myself grabbing this throughout the summer. Let’s face it, that’s when all the real work begins.
Degree Women Expert Protection with motionSENSE™ will be available in three scents (Fresh Energy, Pure Cotton and Active Clean) for under five bucks at drugstores nationwide. To learn more (and get a free sample while they last!), check out Degree’s Facebook Page!

So while the world complains about the recession, I chuckle a bit inside. See, I like to say that as a college student my pockets has always been suffering from a recession and that the rest of the world is now catching up. So, I know a thing or two about making things work when times are hard.
Always searching for a bargain, I look for things that offers high quality at an affordable price. Typically, however, there are some things I would not scrimp on. Period. Fragrance, was one of them. Keyword being was. And now, ladies, I’m sharing my newest secret with you. Consider it my way of helping you cope with the recession. Trust me, I know.
The Degree Women Fine Fragrance Collection offers an us the chance to smell wonderfully delicious yet sophisticated without breaking the bank. Now we have an alternative to our fine fragrance needs with anti-antiperspirants and matching body mists developed by world-renowned fragrance expert Ann Gottlieb…aka “the nose”. Degree Fine Fragrance Collection combines long-lasting scents with 24-hour wetness and odor protection. The deodorants are paired up with a matching body mist for a gorgeous fine fragrance experience. Each deodorant and matching body mist is available in three scents- one meant for every girl no matter if you’re looking for something fruity, floral or vanilla-ish.
I am currently loving Sexy Intrigue. Right off the bat, I knew Sexy Intrigue had vanilla notes in it. It’s as if my nose had been trained in all my 21 years of living to detect anything with vanilla and fall in love. The top and middle notes include fruits and florals such as jasmine, rose, blackberry, strawberry and pink grapefruit. The vanilla makes up the middle notes as well as the base notes (what you smell like in the end…the drydown).
To be honest, I doubted Degree’s Fine Fragrance collection. There was no way (so I thought) that a deodorant company can make a matching body mist that would smell as superb as my “real” perfumes.
I’m soooo eating my words right now.
Now to be honest, the deodorant kind of freaks me out. Having my pits smell like vanilla isn’t something that I’m used to. So I haven’t been wearing that as much.
The body mist on the other hand. That baby stays in my purse! Luckily it’s small enough to place in my monstrously large bag (what, it’s what all the cool girls are wearing…). It’s absolutely amazing. The scent lasts surprisingly long on me but, naturally, I spray a bit midday just as a pick me up.
The other two scents are:
Delicious Bliss * A light and energetic fragrance with a flirtatious hint of fruitiness * Top and middle notes include floral and fruity notes such as magnolia, jasmine, hyacinth, muguet, apple, peach and raspberry * A hint of musk rounds out the base notes
Classic Romance * A sophisticated and classic fragrance with floral notes * Top notes include floral and citrus scents including peony, muguet, bergamot and orange * Middle notes also include muguet, peony and rose
The Degree Fine Fragrance Collections are available at mass market retail stores for $3.99. That’s right…$3.99. Click here for a $1 coupon. Told you I’ll help you out.
