I should have a series on this blog called “Instagram made me buy it.” One of the items on that list would definitely be the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette for sure.
When news of this palette first broke, I wasn’t really in the mood to pick it up. As much as I love the ABH palettes, I didn’t really care much for the Modern Renaissance palette (who needs red shadows, amirite?)
As more and more beauty bloggers got their PR shipments, I started to crack. I’m not sure which vlogger ended up convincing me but I caved and bought. Boy am I glad I did!
Modern Renaissance Palette Overview

The Modern Renaissance palette features 14 shades, including neutral and berry tones. This is Anastasia Beverly Hills’ first permanent palette and it’s filled with warm tones which is right up my alley.
As with all of her shadows, the shades in the Modern Renaissance palette are highly pigmented and easy to blend. Of the 14 shades, 11 are matte and 3 metallic shades. It’s super versatile and the berry shades in the palette are very wearable. It does come with a dual-sided bristle brush which is actually very soft. I’m not usually a fan of brushes that come with palettes, but this is an exception.

While I do love the shadows, they are unbelievably soft which means there’s a lot of kick up when you swirl your brush. I can also see this breaking if you were to drop it one to many times (that said I don’t generally throw my makeup around). I would recommend doing your eye makeup first as I’ve gotten fallout while doing my makeup.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette costs $42 and can be found at Sephora (sold out now but sign up for their emails to be notified when it’s back in stock). You can also find it at Ulta.

I love ABH’s palettes. They got expensive over the year though. $42? That doesn’t sound like ABH prices lol.
I love the quality of your photos! If you don’t mind me asking, which camera/lens do you use?
