Look, there are some products that are a hit the minute you try it and the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30 is one of them.
The NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($44) is an oil-free skin tint that actually surprised me after wearing after two or three days. I’m a full coverage foundation kind of girl. I like the spackle. When I saw the work “skin tint” I thought of it as a lightweight, barely there, why would you buy this stuff.
At first NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint reminded me of another superstar product by the brand: Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. Pure Radiant has become a summer staple for me because it provides necessary coverage without leaving my skin heavy, cakey, or just plain gross. Both products are lightweight yet buildable. Both leave skin breathable. Both leave skin looking gorgeous. Where they differ, however, is Pure Radiant leaves skin looking just that: radiant. There was a slight dewy look whereas Velvet Matte left skin matte (not flat). I wear the shade Polynesia in both. I’ve applied it with both a Beauty Blender and a makeup brush and both times the results have been beautifu I don’t have any issues with it oxidizing though I’ve read reviews where its happened to some people.
This has definitely become one of those no makeup makeup items for me. It’s great for days where I want a bit of coverage but nothing too excessive. NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint is available now at Sephora and NARS boutiques.
This has my name all over it, I have to try it!

I’ve seen many reviews on this and have been skeptical to try it out. You totally sold me on it though. I will definitely be adding this to my summer foundation list.
