Have you shopped M·A·C’s Archie’s Girls collection yet? When the brand announced the collection last year, I was excited to see just how M·A·C would interpret the classic comic book characters into makeup. Between the girl-next-door blonde Betty and the vivacious, spoiled rich-girl, brunette Veronica, I was curious how they’d showcase the epic rivalry into color cosmetics.
- Veronica Powder Blush in Prom Princess: this mid-tone pink blush comes off as a berry shade and has a satin finish. It goes on smooth and leaves me with a flushed look. It looks more natural on my deeper skin tone than the average pink blushes I tend to wear.
- Archie’s Girls Pearlmatte Face Powder in Flatter Me: this product combines pearlized and satin shades to achieve an array of looks. At first I was truly confused as to how to wear this (do I just swirl it all? Will the colors blend and get all gross?) but eventually I got over it and applied. I lightly swirled a blush brush over the product and applied to my cheeks for a great highlight.
- Archie’s Girls Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in Designer Purple: the pearlglide pencils are soft to the touch (a little too soft if you ask me) and provide a smooth, easy to apply line. Designer Purple is a gorgeous purple that really pops against dark skin. I am afraid (sometimes) that the tip of the pencil will get smushed if pressed too hard but aside from that I don’t experience any problems with application.
- Ronnie Red (Veronica): a beautiful bright red with blue undertones and a matte finish. It reminds me of a slightly brighter version of Russian Red. It’s pretty long wearing and a great option for those who crave reds but don’t want anything with a glossy finish.
- Daddy’s Little Girl (Veronica): is described as a mid-tone pink violet but it comes off a titch magenta on me. I’ve fallen in L-O-V-E with it and it has quickly become a staple in my makeup bag. It has a creamy texture and is unbelievably opaque. It doesn’t take much to apply to get some serious coverage and the color lasts practically all day.
- Oh, Oh, Oh (Betty): of all the shades, I was thrilled and scared to try this one. I’ve been looking for a color to use as a nude (my all time holy grail is MAC”s Touch) and this looked like it’d work wonders. It’s described as a sheer brown plum but what scared me was the lustre finish. I don’t fare well with lustres. It goes on well but didn’t rock my world. It’s a pretty color but not my cup of tea.
- Betty Bright (Betty): another color that scared me. Why? Because it’s so bright. Alone it’s a great color and instantly reminded me of Lancome’s Chris and Tell, which is a bit creamier and brighter. It’s a pretty color (Betty Bright) but be careful not to over apply!
Also not to be forgotten is the Just a Flirt makeup bag (so cute and in a heart shape) as well as the Young Hearts compact mirror (the most adorable thing you can probably pull ut of your bag. ever.) The collection is largely sold out online but I have seen product on counters and in stores, so your best bet would probably be to visit in person to grab what you can, while you can.
Disclosure: I received press samples.

I got some of the Veronica items as a birthday gift (how catchy LOL). I love them and they wear great. You can play them up bold or soft.
