Emma Stone at the 68th Annual Golden Globes

With a sleek, peachy Calvin Klein number “Easy A” star and Golden Globe nominee, Emma Stone, took the red carpet by storm. I couldn’t help but stare at Stone’s blond locks and wonder if I rather her as a blonde or a fiery redhead. (I’m leaning towards redhead more!) Funnily enough — she’s a NATURAL BLONDE. go figure.

Stone went back to her roots for her role in the upcoming “Spider-Man” movie, alongside my future baby daddy Andrew Garfield.

While I was iffy about the look altogether (is it me or was she a bit too tan??) her hair did speak wonders to me. The look grew on me throughout the four-hour telecast. There is something slightly Hitchcock heroine about it. TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist, Mara Roszak, created a classically pretty style that consisted of an elegant bun perfect for evening.

Get the look:
* Step 1: Apply TRESemmé Fresh Start No Frizz Créme to damp hair
* Step 2: Blow dry using a round brush to sweep hair away from face
* Step 3: To give volume and height, tease crown and spray TRESemmé 24 Hour Root Boost Spray at the root
* Step 4: Smooth hair while keeping height at the crown and secure into a mid-height ponytail
* Step 5: Divide ponytail in half and twist the two halves around each other
* Step 6: Hold the ends firmly and wrap the twisted hair into a bun, pinning as you go
* Step 7: To set the style, finish with TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray

After staring at her photos online, I’ve come to the conclusion that Stone had - by far - the best updo of the evening. Challenge me. I dare you.

“Black Swan” Star, Mila Kunis, at the 68th Annual Golden Globes

For the 68th Annual Golden Globes, makeup artist Tracey Levy created a look that was “fresh and effortless, with a touch of Audrey Hepburn.” With an asymmetrical neckline and twisted fabric, Kunis’ emerald green Vera Wang gown screamed elegance as she walked the red carpet. Her gown was paired with YSL heels, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Judith Leiber clutch.

Kunis’ signature smokey/ heavily lined eyes took a break for the evening as Levy used coral hues on the starlet for the evening. Using Lancome makeup, Levy applied Teint Miracle Lit From Within foundation and Blush Subtil in Sheer Amourose. Her eyes were swept with Lancome’s soon to be released Color Design Pan Palette in Coral Crush and Teal Fury. Her mile long lashes were graced with a bit of Hypnose Drama mascara in Excessive Black. On her lips, Levy applied L’Absolu Nu lipstick in Coral Ribbon (out in March) for a beautiful, peachy pout.

Her hair was styled by TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist, Mara Roszak, who was inspired by Kunis’ green Vera Wang number and created a “sophisticated and feminine up-do.” This modern French twist is a little Hollywood glam and Audrey Hepburn rolled into one.

To get the look, Roszak sprayed TRESemmé Naturals Finishing Spray on damp hair and rough blow dried to add body. Roszak sectioned off the top half of her hair and applied TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Root Boost Spray to give hair lift at the crown. The top section was then blow dried and pin curled from front to back to add wave and texture. The bottom half was pulled back tightly and gathered as if you are creating a ponytail. Starting at the nape of the neck, the hair was twisted upward in a crisscross pattern at the crease. The pin curls were undone and teased. Next, the top section was brushed backward and tucked underneath French twist. To set hair and provide a lasting hold, the stylist sprayed TRESemmé’s TRES Two Extra Hold Hairspray. Finally, to soften the look, the hair was gently loosened around hairline and ears.

January Jones at the 67th Annual Golden Globes

So what if the Golden Globes were Sunday night? It’s award season and you wwill be seeing updates ’round the clock.

Okay, maybe not ’round the clock but…y’know!

When January Jones hit the red carpet last Sunday, a few people were shocked that she wore a- gasp!- headband on the red carpet. But, I mean, only Betty Draper can do such a thing and still look rather divine while at it!

I found out the who, the waht and the how to recreate this look so listen up! Top celebrity stylist Mark Townsend created the ‘do which was inspired by her gorgeous black Lanvin dress.

“As soon as I saw the dress I knew I wanted to put her hair up,” said Townsend, “and I think that adding the satin ribbon as a headband gave a classic French twist with a very modern edge.”

I started by applying a small amount of Moroccanoil® Treatment to January’s damp hair and blow-dried it with a round brush. This unique argan oil-infused formula gives the hair amazing shine and silky finish, an
essential to the look I had in mind.

When the hair was dry, I took a dollop of Moroccanoil® Hydrating Styling Cream into my hands and then finger combed the hair to give a soft hold and add even more shine and leave the hair extremely smooth.

Finally, I gathered the hair into a French twist and secured with about 10 bobby pins. To give her a progressive, chic look I used satin ribbon as a headband.”

2010 Golden Globes: Julianna Margulies

Star of Good Wife and last night’s winner for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Julianna Margulies, wore a garnet and black embroidered crepe dress by Narciso Rodriguez and her makeup was done by the fab Kristofer Buckle for NARS Cosmetics.

“Julianna has such beautiful skin and a gorgeous beaming smile, that I wanted to keep the colors subdued and let her natural skintone shine through,” said Buckle. “I didn’t want to use too much color because it might have taken away from her. I wanted it to be all about Julianna so I focused on highlighting her skin by encouraging shine and glow.”

Using fingers apply Orgasm Illuminator down the center of the nose, across cheekbones, and on the apples of the cheeks. Apply Firming Foundation all over face, mixing in with the Orgasm Illuminator. Re-apply Orgasm Illuminator over the entire complexion to encourage shine.

Kristofer’s tip: “I used the Flat Concealer Brush to apply the Orgasm Illuminator on top of the foundation creating high gleam.”

Apply both sides of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow into the crease and all over the eyelid. Dab the sooty dark brown side of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow on the outer part of the eye. Next, use the sable shade from Brousse Duo Eyeshadow and lightly dust under lower lash line. Then, lightly tap Orgasm Illuminator on the inside corner of the eye. Curl the eyelashes and apply Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara.

Kristofer’s tip: “I love the shimmering iridescent in this eyeshadow [Cordura Duo]. A metallic iridescence softens the smokiness of an eye allowing it to look like it is part of the skin rather than looking gothic.”

Apply Cruising Lipstick. Next, layer Ophelia Lip Gloss over the lipstick. Both products are new for Spring 2010.

Kristofer’s tip: “I love this soft pink, it adds just the right amount of color.”

Dust Super Orgasm Blush onto the apples of cheeks.

Blend Orgasm Illuminator all over neck and décolletage.

Orgasm Illuminator will be available at Sephora on February 1 and all other NARS Cosmetics are available at www.narscosmetics.com

2010 Golden Globes: Christina Aguilera

Last night’s 67th Annual Golden Globes nearly SHOCKED me too pieces when I saw a beautiful and sexy Christina Aguilera walk on stage next to a very plastic Elvira looking Cher. (That hasn’t stopped me from lovin’ me some Cher!)

The 29-year-old songstress and actress in the upcoming movie Burlesque wore a strapless peach colored chiffon gown with a metallic bodice and peach colored leather inserts by Versace. She finished off her look with Nina Ricci jewels, a Judith Leiber clutch, Webster jewels and makeup by NARS.

“I wanted to create a soft natural look on Christina to compliment her gown and new haircut,” said Kristofer Buckle for NARS Cosmetics. “Her dress choice was a beautiful pastel peach with silver. I didn’t want the look to fight with her gown. The final look is chic and seamless, with a earthy colored smokey eye and glowing skin.”

Use the Balancing Moisture Lotion and apply the Makeup Primer as a base. Apply Firming Foundation and set with Pressed Powder

Apply the vanilla side of India Song Duo Eyeshadow as a base, over the entire lid and up to eyebrow. Next, use the shimmering walnut shade of India Song Duo Eyeshadow and apply to the outer corner and under the bottom lash line. Then, use the warm rich brown side of Cordura Duo Eyeshadow just under eye rubbing into the lower lash line to create smokey eye. Curl the eyelashes and apply a coat of Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara to top and bottom lashes, following with 2 coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara for full lashes. Take Nuits Blanches Eyeliner Stylo and dot in between individual lashes

Kristofer’s tip:“I used the Push Eyeliner Brush to blend the eyeliner in between the lashes, which helped to apply just enough without looking to heavy.”

Use the Fantasia Lipliner Pencil and Niagara Lipstick. Next, apply Easy Lover Lip Gloss (new Spring 2010) over.

Kristofer’s tip:“Applying a sheer pink gloss on top of a nude colored lip provides a nice modern pop of color.”

Generously apply Orgasm Illuminator (available February 1) to cheekbones, décolletage, and shoulders for an all over glow. Use Malaysia Multiple Bronzer [I LOVE this Multiple. One item you should definitely own] to contour cheeks by blending under cheekbones. Apply Mata Hari Blush to the apple of cheeks and lightly tap on browbone. Next, with short, back and forth quick strokes use Nico Blush to highlight cheekbones.

Kristoper’s tip: “Lightly dusting a blush on the browbone gives life to the eye and melds the whole look together.”
