Summer of Skin with SK-II

One of my favorite parts of my beauty routine is skincare. I revel in it. It’s “me time,” where I focus solely on the task at hand. While doing a winged liner gives me heartburn, my skincare calms me down.

If you’ve read this blog long enough, you know that I take skincare very seriously. While I’m willing to try (almost) anything, the items that stick around, are those that actually work. No gimmicks, please.

When SK-II reached out to partner, I just had to do it! The SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is one of the most coveted skincare products around the world. Often referred to as “miracle water,” Facial Treatment Essence was one of the first essences ever created. You don’t just become a cult favorite out of nowhere—the product has to work!
What makes it special? It is more than 90% pure Pitera™ – an ingredient exclusive to SK-II products. This essence is super moisturizing, helps diminish dark spots, and penetrates deep into the skin’s surface to improve skin texture and firmness.

I’ve incorporated SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence into my routine because your girl doesn’t want to always deal with makeup! It sounds odd, me being a beauty blogger and all, but it’s pretty amazing being able to just throw on bit of lipstick and go (especially when it’s super hot out).

I’ve been using this essence as part of my beauty routine for quite a few weeks now, and I’ve definitely noticed some results. My skin has a dewy glow before the makeup. A constant issue I have to deal with is dehydration and after using this, my skin looks and feels much more hydrated. I don’t have any noticeable texture and the wretched dark marks have been significantly reduced.

More importantly, the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence has really helped me achieve my goal of feeling confident with my bare skin. I partnered with SK-II so I could be #OneBottleAwayFrom fulfilling my skincare goals!

Prior to this year, I’ve never had to deal with dark spots that resulted from acne. I can’t lie…my ego took a bit of a bruising. A few months ago, I was caking on the foundation and concealer in order to hide them. I was noticeably absent from my YouTube channel because it was low-key kind of upsetting.
Now, not so much. I literally leave the house makeup free or with maybe a little concealer under the eyes (I’ve had dark circles all my life), a little mascara, and some nude lipstick.

Skin is in, baby girl!

Of course, it’s a work in progress but having the right skincare items is a step forward in the right direction.

In order to get there, my skincare routine is as follows

  • Cleanse with a gentle cleanser that won’t strip my skin and make it dry. Since I have oily skin, if I strip it of moisture my skin will go into overdrive and produce MORE oil.
  • Next I sprinkle a small amount of Facial Treatment Essence into a cotton pad or my hands and gently tap it into my face and neck. DON’T rub vigorously! None of that is needed. Since it’s so lightweight, it absorbs into the skin
  • Apply oil-free moisturizer and then layer an SPF on top.

Special thanks to SK-II for sponsoring this post and bringing this product into my life! You can pick up your own bottle of Facial Treatment Essence here.

Love your review, and want to try this product now. I have oily skin as well and can never seem to find products that work for my skin. I’m not big on skin care and I know I need to step it up a notch. Thanks for sharing.

Great review! I have really bad dark marks and hyperpigmentation as a result of body acne. Might have to try this!

Thanks for this review and the tutorial on how to best use the facial treatment. I had never heard of this brand before. I pinned the picture to remind myself of SKII.

I also have oily skin. My issue is loving the dewy look but not wanting to be overly dewy to where I look greasy. I feel like this product will help me reach that look. I love natural products and skin care so this is something I will have to look into and try.
