I don’t own too many Kat Von D products but her Shade + Light Eye Palette is a go to. In the land of constant palette launches, it gets lost in the sauce. If I’m leaning towards a matte neutral shade, KVD has it. When I saw the release of the new Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette ($49), I knew it was going to be mine. ✨✨
Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette has 12 neutral shades in a range of glimmer finishes. Not quite glittery but with a bit more pizzazz than shimmer. This palette is the perfect companion to the original Shade + Light Eye Palette.
The original all-matte version features 12 eyeshadows in the neutral family. It’s essentially the go-to for a contoured and smoky eye. The Glimmer version also has the same exact shades as the original matte edition. It does not come with a brush, however, you can purchase the her Glimmer Effect Eye Brush separately for $24.
Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette contains:
- Base shades (three at 0.08 oz/ 2.2 g): Porcelain (satin nude), Dusk (satin taupe), Dune (satin peach)
- Contour shades (three at 0.04 oz/ 1 g): Copper (metallic fawn), Cinder (metallic chestnut), Rust (metallic rust)
- Define shades (three at 0.04 oz/ 1 g): Bronze (espresso with gold glitter), Onyx (jet black with silver glitter), Jasper (chocolate with gold glitter)
- Topcoat shades (three at 0.05 oz/ 1.5 g): Sterling (white gold special effect glimmer), Glacier (platinum special effect glimmer), Quartz (rose gold special effect glimmer)
All of the powders are easy to work with. No patchiness and no issues blending. The colors are pigmented so I go in with a light hand then build, should I desire. The topcoat shades are quite sheer and work well if you spritz the brush with water or Fix+. I’m very happy with this purchase because this palette does not disappoint.
The Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette is available now at Sephora stores, online, and KVD’s website.
