I basically worship at the altar of NARS and I’m sure you’ve seen that if you’ve ever read a review or seen a monthly favorites of mine. This may or may not be problematic considering the #dayjob but here I am publicly declaring my love for NARS Cosmetics.
When I saw their most recent launch, my curiosity was piqued. Your girl has been into the world of liquid blushes and I blame Glossier’s Cloud Paint (read more about Glossier here). So I decided to call it in and I am so glad I did.
Part of the NARS summer launches, Liquid Blush retails for $30 and you get 0.5 fl 0z/15 ml worth of product. I was low-key kinda shocked how small the bottles were but trust me, they know what they’re doing. You only need a drop— nay, half a drop!— in order to get coverage.
The Liquid Blush comes in four shades: Orgasm (lightest of the crew) and is a soft pink with gold shimmer, Luster is a soft peach apricot, Torrid is a warmer coral peach, and Dolce Vita is a matte rose. I was never one for Orgasm powder blush simply because it doesn’t do anything on my skin. This, however, I’m into. Dolce Vita is one of my favorite powder blushes from NARS so I’m happy it’s part of this lineup.
Liquid Blush has a satin but dewy (not wet or gross) finish and they are P-I-G-M-E-N-T-E-D. It’s pretty easy to get carried away so I would recommend pumping the smallest amount on the back of your hand, warm it up, then dab onto your cheeks. You can also use a duo fiber stippling brush if you’re anything like me and hate using your fingers for makeup application.
Since they’re pretty fluid, you can use a Beauty Blender but I recommend using the beauty sponge after you’ve dabbed it on in order to blend out the blush. Although it’s pretty easy to blend, they don’t disappear into the skin (hallelujah!) and it doesn’t streak or run. You can also layer it under the complementary blush shade or wear it alone.
I don’t know how many more words I can dedicate to this product but overall, I say this is a win.
