Is it me or are holiday collections being released earlier and earlier each year? Holiday collections were out before Halloween even arrived! While I’m not mad at it (the beauty collector in me revels in this time of year), it makes me wonder what is there to look forward to come November/ December?
Anywhoo—wanted to quickly share the new Urban Decay Holiday 2016 collection that landed at my doorstep not too long ago. I’m planning on doing a video to swatch everything and go in depth but here’s a quick overview of what’s available now at Sephora and Ulta.
LEFT: Junkie Vice Lipstick Palette, $35, Sephora Exclusive
I absoluately adore the new Ubran Decay Vice lipsticks. The Vice Lipstick Palette has 12 shades from the entire collection in a range of finishes. If you’ve ever wanted to try various shades in the Vice collection this is a good deal versus buying individual lipsticks. This Junkie palette is great for traveling and comes with a retractable lip brush.
- Disturbed (deep brick red)
- 714 (bright red)
- Carnal (medium warm nude)
- Safe Word (neutral nude-pink)
- Studded (metallic gray-brown)
- Whip (soft pink with gold iridescent shimmer)
- Wrath (metallic red)
- Big Bang (bright pink sparkle)
- Firebird (deep fuchsia)
- Vanity Kills (lavender)
- Speedball (deep vibrant purple)
- Junkie (metallic teal shimmer with gold micro-sparkle)
CENTER: Liquid Moondust Cream Eyeshadow, $22, Sephora & Ulta
Liquid Moondust Eyeshadow is a cream version of the brand’s pressed Moondust Eyeshadows. While I love the pressed eyeshadows, these are a no from me. They contain microfine bits of iridescent sparkle 3-D metallics but yu really have to build in order to get good payoff.
RIGHT: Blackmail Vice Lipstick Palette, $35, Ulta Exclusive
Similar to the Junkie palette, this has 12 lipstick shades. This palette is more wearable and definitely my favorite of the two. No matter what you’re in the mood for, this limited-edition palette has it all. Just one swipe gives you major payoff and doesn’t tug or get patchy. This one is exclusive to Ulta, so get it while you can.
- Sheer Shame (berry>
- Firebird Deep (fuchsia)
- Big Bang Bright (pink sparkle)
- Disobedient (Medium pink)
- EZ (Bright red-orange)
- 714 (Bright red)
- Vanished (Pale neutral nude)
- 1993 (Medium brown)
- Ex-Girlfriend (Nude-rose with pink shimmer)
- Amulet (Metallic brick rose)
- Conspiracy (Plum-bronze shimmer)
- Blackmail (Deep berry wine)
Naked Illuminated Trio, $36, at Sephora and Ulta
This is straight up glitter on your face. It’s sightly chunky, gets messy, and can emphasize any texture on your skin. This looks gorgeous in the pan but I reserve this for body highlighting and not the face.
Vice Lipstick Vintage Capsule Collection, $17, Sephora and Ulta
The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Vintage Capsule Collection brings back nine old-school shades from UD’s past. These are some bold colors but in terms of payoff, the majority are pretty sheer and sparkly. These are good #TBT but just know that it is vastly different than the Vice lipsticks.
