Mascara Layering with Pixi Beauty

Layering my mascaras is something I’ve been doing for year. YEARS! My lashes are naturally curly so I tend to look for length and mega volume. Like Goldilocks before me, I’m always searching for just the right one (although I have to say I think I found it)

When I received this package from Pixi Beauty in the mail, I was pretty excited. Not only did it come at just the right time (I was in need of a new mascara) but they sent me options. Prior to this, I’ve never tried Pixi’s mascara offerings.

Below are the mascaras they sent me and a quick overview:

Black Lacquer Lash Primer ($15) preps lashes to maximize volume. I used this and didn’t se a dramatic difference in my lashes.

Lengthy Fiber Mascara ($16) enhances & elongates lashes with fibers for a feathered, lush lash effect. I tried using this several times and hated it. To be fair, I’m not really a fan of fiber mascaras but I felt like this formula was too dry. The wand was literally tugging on my lashes and I did not see any lengthening on my lashes.

Lash Booster ($15) a do-it-all mascara that curls, defines, lengthens and thickens lashes. A good mascara but not great. It gives lashes a very natural look. Compared to other mascaras, like Maybelline’s Push Up Drama or the Lash Sensational, I don’t find myself reaching for this. I do like the blackened blue color as it’s an unexpected twist.

Lower Lash Mascara ($11) has a specialized slim brush with short bristles that coats lower & hard-to-reach small lashes. Oh how I wish I had prominent lower lashes!! The wand on this mascara is super small and great for separating the lower lashes. Since I don’t have lower lashes (or a lot of them), I use this mascara to reach the inner and hard to reach lashes. I also like to use this when I want to blend my false lashes with natural ones.

Do you need all of the above? No. I would recommend a cocktail of the Lash Booster and Lower Lash Mascara if you’re a fan of Pixi. If not, skip the Lash Booster and grab the Maybelline options to layer with the Lower Lash Mascara. Pixi by Petra is available at Target.

The Lash Booster sounds like the perfect do-it-all mascara so that’s the one I will probably get! How difficult are they to remove? Fantastic review, and lovely photos! Xx
