Being the nosey voyeur that I am, I reached out to a few of my favorite people in the business to share what they’re jam packed days are like – and what better week to kick it off than fashion week! Over the past couple of days, I harassed my friends and colleagues to give an inside glimpse into what makes shows (hair, beauty, etc.) actually happen. Is it all champagne and glamour? Rounding out the week in terms of A Day in the life is the one and only Amy Focazio. Amy is the Vice President of Global Communications for M·A·C Cosmetics, which simply means she’s a BFD. This season, the M·A·C Cosmetics team is backstage at over 120 shows, has/will work with over 4,700 models, and has already ordered 439 lashes – needless to say Amy and team are just a tad bit busy. Like most of my beauty friends, Julia Murphree seems to have come out of nowhere but all I know if I NEED her in my lifestyle. She’s hysterical, has amazing brows, and her Five Rules to life completed my life. As Director of Social Media and Digital Communications over at Maybelline/ Essie/Garnier, she wears many hats (um, like, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, AND Vine).

Over the next couple of days, I’ll be harassing my friends and colleagues to give an inside glimpse into what makes shows (hair, beauty, etc.) actually happen. Is it all champagne and glamour? First up is Mary Friberg (pictured below in the pink top!) who is the Public Relations Director at Hourglass Cosmetics. I’m not sure HOW I met Mary but I do know that I completely APPRECIATE her in my lifestyle since she keeps me updated on all things Hourglass. The brand has quickly become a regular in my makeup bag and their Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipsticks have CHANGED my life and I have her to thank for it. Expect a few more reviews (especially on their new Ambient Lighting Powder) here on MissWYA. In the meantime, take a look at the power machine that is Mary as she walks us through Day 1 of NYFW:
