In honor of Banana Republic’s (rather genius) Desk to Dinner collection, I was gifted the Accordion Pleat Skirt to style in my own way. The collection features pieces fit to take you from the office to dinner in a snap. Considering that I work full time AND run this here blog, my wardrobe needs to be as versatile as I am tired. By day, I’m in an office making magic happen and at night I’m running to blogger events or drinks with friends. For this I rely on key pieces in my closet and accessories (jewelry and shoes!) to make my look transitional.
Desk

Flats make sense for the office since a) I’m often going from one meeting room to another, and b) running to get lunch with a few minutes to spare (can’t run in heels!). Working at an agency, you never really know when you might have to run into a client meeting, so I keep heels at my desk just in case.
Dinner

Post work, I’m off to an event or catching up with friends so I often switch to heels to look cute (all an illusion). This is also a great time to swap out the top if I’m going for a more relaxed, casual vibe. This doesn’t always happen but, again, I never know where I may end up going so it’s good to be prepared.

My biggest tip would be to plan ahead. If you know you’re going somewhere after work/classes, bring a change of shoes (or keep them under you desk) and tons of jewelry options (stacked bracelets are awesome). Also, makeup can go a LONG way. Add a bit of mascara, put on that bold pout, and out you go
