Always Alfred Sung

I have fallen in love...

I know I say this all. the. time. However this time, I'm serious.

Always Alfred Sung is the newest bridal fragrance by Alfred Sung was released in April and tells a modern love story.

Sung created Always to complement the beauty of today's bride and to enrich the sensory experience of her wedding day. Using his design experience (Sung studied couture in Paris and also studied at Parsons School of Design in NYC) and bridal expertise, Sung created this fragrance with the modern bride in mind.

”I was inspired to create Always Alfred Sung after reading a biography of Grace Kelly - the book put special emphasis on the beauty and elegance of her legendary wedding day. I was enamored by the details of the iconic wedding - the regal ceremony, the classic dress, the profusion of flowers and the timeless love story that her wedding represented.” -Alfred Sung

The fragrance opens with the floral dew of Waterlily mixed perfectly with the radiance of Kumquat and Neroli, adding an ethereal quality. It then goes into delightful florals of Pink Peony and Honeysuckle Petals that add femininity to the bouquet. The heart of the fragrance is the Orris, a woody floral violet-like type of note. The drydown is quite elegant with the warmth of sandalwood and patchouli on an intimate bed of Ambrette Seeds, adding a hint of sensuality to the fragrance.

Three words to describe the scent are: Clean. Fresh. Romantic.
“I love beauty. And what is more beautiful than a woman on her wedding day?” -Alfred Sung

I may not be a bride but I wore this scent everyday for the past two weeks and I seriously couldn't get enough. The scent is light and perfect for spring. I'm used to wearing heavier scents that contain musk or any other warmer notes, so this was quite refreshing on my skin. But after realizing the notes in the scent (especially sandalwood, patchouli and anything borderline violet) it's no surprise I fell in love. It has all of these notes, yet it's much softer than most of the perfumes that are in my collection. The roller ball is simply divine and hasn't left my purse. It feels nice to have on a perfume that makes you smile when catch the slightest whiff, especially since the rainy weather here in NYC has been doing nothing for my mood.

If you're a bride, I highly recommend this scent. If you're not a bride, I still highly recommend this scent. It's a must have.

Eau de parfum in three sizes -- a 0.23-oz. roller ball for $18.50, 1.7 oz. for $52 and 3.4 oz. for $68 -- as well as a 6.8-oz. body lotion, $32 and is available at elizabetharden.com.
