Last week, I came home to a little package sitting on my bed just waiting for me. Normally, I get really excited when I see nice boxes but I had just came home from a rather stressful day of midterms (ahh yes, higher education...). I wasn't in the mood for anything.
But of course I opened it.
A deliciously intoxicating whiff of absinthe, vetyver and blonde woods hit me like nobodies business!I fell in love.
Delirium & Co. was created by Anthony Carro, founder of the Candle Delirium store in West Hollywood, CA. This luxurious LA candle boutique carries over 30 of the most sought after candle lines which now includes Carro’s very own soy blend wax collection that burns for over 55 hours of pure, indulgent scent. The store has an ongoing list of celebrities that come in to get a candle or to create a gift basket of various candles for a special occasion.
New for April is Delirium & Co.'s Blue Absinthe candle. This is what I fell in love with. I'm naturally drawn to any scent that has vetyver, so it makes perfect sense that this candle would amaze me beyond words.
In addition to the absinthe, vetyver and blonde woods that danced in my nose, Blue Absinthe is also made up of basil and rosemary. All of these notes were inspired by the memories it brought back to Carro of Europe and a Moulin Rouge-esq environment.
Perfect.
I kid you not, dear readers, there are not enough words in the English dictionary that can perfectly describe how amazing this candle is. I was afraid of releasing it out of its box for fear that the scent would disappear forever.It did not.
The slightly Gothic container is just as beautiful, so it's perfect to keep long after the candle is gone.
Blue Absinthe is part of Delirium & Co.'s "Blue Period" collection. The Blue Period collection consists of fragrances that "tantalizes" the senses. Dark, mysterious and regal, the Blue Period invokes a time of European splendor, capturing the essence of royalty and sophistication, a time when men were brave, suave and chivalrous. Other scents in this collection include:
- Royal Amber: pine needles, black pepper, eucalyptus, sandalwood, musk and myrrh
