Want It. Need It. Got It.
This is what I find myself saying throughout most of the day. "Ooh I want this"..."OHMIGOD I NEEED this!"..."WHAT!?!? HALF PRICE? I got this already...full price...last week!" (is it me or do things go on sale after you buy it...)
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE my foundation! But I honestly just got into foundation- I've always worn pressed powder (old school I know). My mom has always told me to use pressed powders. Always.I heard it all the time..."Giirrrl, your face is shining!"..."Why don't you powder your nose...and forehead..."
So I do..and I'm hooked. I wear liquid foundation in the winter only because [some] powders make my dry skin stand out. And in the spring/ summer time, I use my pressed powder because it's not as heavy as foundation (foundation feels like it melts off my face). In extreme heat/ cases of laziness, I use tinted moisturizers. With that said, however, I do still use pressed powder whenever I don't want the heavy feeling of foundation in the winter time.
Want It.
POWDER::MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural (in Deep Dark) $25

I'm late on the Mineralized Skinfinish bandwagon. I hear great things-and not so great things- depending on who you hear it from. But my curiosity has been peaked due to all the references. And plus, ever since I saw a picture of my new most favorite girl of the moment, Keri Hilson (read my-unintentional-but-subconscious-similar haircut experience) , rockin' the MSF...I had to try. I want to give the mineral makeup world a go so, why not right?

Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish Foundation SPF 15
I've been wanting this foundation for a while now- ever since I read Seymone's rave review. I don't know why I have yet to purchase this oil free formula. It has all the necessities- SPF, oil free, buildable coverage. Maybe it's the $42 price tag for such a small bottle.NEED IT!
I first discovered this while browsing CVS (this is how I spend my free time in between classes lol). CVS was having a Buy One Get One free deal, and I'm one to never turn down a sale, so I handed my $13 over to CVS and ran to my school bathroom (yes..school bathroom. I was eager to test this out). Depending on how you like your foundations this one can go either way. I love it because of the coverage it provides. AMAZING! My skin looks PHENOMENAL when wearing it. BUT...it dries really quickly- a little too quick as it doesn't give enough time to properly blend. Secondly, it leaves streaks. STREAKS! It's always a process with this foundation as I'm constantly blending and trying to de-streak. Lastly, if you're new to foundation and are afraid of heaviness- stay away! This is a full coverage foundation so it's a little on the heavy side. Definitely not a summer foundation as it makes my face feel heavy and it literally melts off my face. But keep in mind that it is all about application so there have been times when I wore it and it didn't feel like I just laid a pancake on my face. It does let shine come through because midday I always find myself looking quite oily and must run to the bathroom to blot.POWDER::

Prescriptives Virtual Matte Foundation (in Toffee) $32.50
I became a Prescriptives fan after I discovered their Anywear Multi-finish Compact foundation. I like the Anywear foundation due to the fact that it is in a compact form and it's sheer so days when I don't feel like using a full coverage foundation- this is my go to but I'm DYING to try this Virtual Matte foundation. An oil-free foundation is what I need as my skin is quite oily and needs to be regulated.
From the website:
Oil-control complex with botanical extract absorbs surface shine and when used daily, actually helps reduce oil production over time. Natural exfoliants smooth skin, while SPF 15 and anti-oxidants protect from environmental damage.
Not to mention it contains SPF 15 which is a definite MUST!

GOT IT.
I have to give credit where credit is due though. For starters, it does have SPF 6 (the foundation for dry skin has SPF 15). Also, for a drugstore item, they offer a wide selection of shades and colors. With most drugstore foundations, I have to get the LAST shade (which is always called "Dark" or "mocha"...real creative, no?) and even then it's a little on the pale side. But with this, the Mocha was actually too dark for me. TOO DARK! So I'm considering getting the shade Mahogany. But I'll wait until a BOGO. =)

Great foundations post, mama!! I stillllll have yet to get "in" them. Craziness...I do wear the MAC MSF in Dark. It's okay....nothing to brag about.
Thanks!!!! I hear great thing about MSF but I don't know if it's even worth it lol.
Love your site's new look!!
I love Revlon Colorstay, but I have noticed that it tend to vary in consistency. It definitely thickens up as it gets older, but if you buy a fresh bottle, it seems not as thick. You could try diluting it with some MAC Fix+ maybe.
Also, I LOVE the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural! You definitely should give it a try! :)
Glossy: thanks girl!!! I guess it does get thicker as it goes old...hmm hmm time to spend some more money lol
