You're not friend to those with noses
I'll miss you before we're done
Or the world will smell as one
Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat,
What are they feeding you?
Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat
It's not your fault
-Phoebe Buffay from Friends
Am I the only one who stays up way past midnight watching vintage Friends??
But seriously, those were the first lyrics that popped into my head when I first saw these clever little shoe savers.

Summer Soles are peel and stick insoles that create a thin barrier between your shoes and your feet. So if you're plagued by sweaty feet REJOICE! Your shoes will now be saved.
I'm not going to lie. We're friends, right?
I suffer from sweaty feet at times. Eeww! Gross! I know. But it's a fact and as you're making that nasty face you know deep down you can't get mad at me 'cuz you have the same issue. I used to blame it on the fact that I was an athlete (track and field! and then I punked out and became a Stepper/Cheerleader) but those days are long gone yet the problem remains. I've kind of taken it for what it is and find ways of making sure my shoes stay on unless I'm at home.
So when I saw Summer Soles, my curiosity was peaked and I had to try them out.
Verdict?
Amazing!
The good thing with Summer Soles is that not only absorbs foot moisture, preventing it from ruining the lining of the shoe, but can be used to update existing shoes and sandals with a large range of colors and prints to choose from. And although it's peel and stick, it doesn't leave any sticky residue on your shoes. HALLELUJAH!
I'd be damned if I pay good money for my shoes and let an $8 sticky thing mess them up!
And while the name is Summer Soles, sweat doesn't discriminate and attacks in the winter time (probably because I layer like nobodies business!) and it works no matter what season it is. Though I must admit, I'd probably stock up on these babies in the summer just because of the slippery shoe problem that occurs during one of NYC's many heat waves. I hate it when I wear super cute open toe shoes and my feet start sliding all over the place. Not cute.
For incidents like that, the Ultra-Absorbent style would be the best bet (great for flats). Unlike tightly woven fabrics, the special-blend non-woven fabric absorbs moisture and channels it away
from your feet, where it dissipates quickly. So your feet feel dry not muggy or clammy- even in closed shoes and even if wearing pantyhose. Much like a cotton ball, random interlocked fibers are compressed into firm, 1/8-inch thick fabric strips. This special fabric blend is 70% wool and 30% Rayon, a perfect combination for absorption and evaporation of feet perspiration without unnecessary odor. However it is NOT cotton! Don't get it twisted my friend. Cotton insoles are NOT recommended by podiatrists, since it takes way too long to dry after becoming wet. Cotton insoles can lead to MAJOR skin problems...not something any of us would like.If the Ultra Absorbent style isn't your thing, there's the Softness of Suede collection. These are perfect for high heels and just about any other style you like! The suede is ultra durable and lasts. The woven fabric is soft and chic just like suede bottomed shoes. There are now two new limited edition (I love those words) Artist's Prints in the Softness of Suede collection (pictured above). Like the original Summer Soles, the new Artist's Prints provide edge to edge coverage in sandals and other open toe shoe styles to wick away moisture.
Could this be any more better...?
