My new shoes...

The creative juices are flowing over here...can't you tell by my exciting title!!?? ha

My mother hates the way I dress. But most importantly she hates my sneaker and flats addiction.

See when I was younger, I was quite the little tomboy. Baggy pants, oversized shirts (usually my brothers), sneakers...I did it all. I even used to rip my stockings so I wouldn't have to wear them (hey, my brother didn't have to so why did I?)

Somewhere in between playing Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and high school my disdain for the color pink has turned into an imaginable infatuation, my baggy jeans have turned into skinnies, and my makeup collection has outgrown my knowledge of how to perform fatality in Mortal Kombat (I used to ROCK IT in that game...)

But one thing that remained is my love of graphic tees and sneakers (Nike Dunks anyone??) Fed up with my non impressive shoe game mom gave me the Almighty Visa to do some much needed shoe shopping. Now credit cards and I DO NOT MIX! I am currently suffering and wondering how exactly I can get Citibank outta my hair (and make them stop the calls...8am seriously??) so when she gave me the Visa I was tempted to head on over to MAC and Saks...but I would never do that to mi madre as I know we ain't rolling in dough over here.

And since I didn't want to have her in debt, I was modest. Very modest.

First I went on over to Sears to see what was all the rage (from my mom). I wasn't really impressed but then again it could have been my dislike of Sears altogether (Sears and I don't get along- some of the sales associates are super rude at the location I go to...and they don't carry MAC like Macys do lol). But I made it my business to find something at a moderate prince.

Lo and behold:

These boots are by Classic Elements and cost me a whopping total of $37!! Now I'm not the type of gal who NEEDS to have brand name things...are they nice yes. Necessary, no. So satisfied with my new riding boots, I went on my merry way. But as I spoke to mom, and described the boots in great detail (she insisted), I was told "spoil myself" (according to her I deserves it...really???)

So I pranced on over to my dear friend Macy's (now Macy's and I are bff...so much so that they're ALWAYS sending me those 20% and $10 off coupons. And I scored BIG!

These Franco Sarto Oxford Bootie are SPECTACULAR!!! Originally around $89, the sales associate (Hey Ilana!!) gave me 20% off without even asking me if I already had the coupon then I simply asked if I could use my $10 off coupon and her reply was golden...

"Of course"

The final price of the shoes came out to around $60. Needless to say I was floating on air. I have been rocking my boots almost everyday since the purchase but the booties I only wore once. I already have my outfits all planned out =)

So any recent splurges/purchases out there in blogland???

PS: 29 days 'till my 21st birthday!!!!!! heyyyyyy!!!! I still have no idea what I'm going to do...any suggestions?

I admire your restraint in not wearing out your mom's credit card.
