Now why are we all screaming and jumping up and down?!?!? Because our favorite neo-soul eccentric Erykah Badu is the face of Tom Ford's newest fragrance White Patchouli which comes out in September.
We all know that Tom Ford is quite risqué when it comes to his ad campaigns and I was expecting something really over the top and that would make me gasp in awe, shock, and disgust all at the same time but when I saw this ad in Vanity Fair (ok it was either Vanity Fair or Glamour as those were the only two mags I read today) I felt nothing but pride. I gasped alright but all I was able to whisper to myself was "Ohmigod look at herrrrr" 
That ad alone made me want to go out and grab it. Here she is channelin' one of my all time fave women Ms. Ross (as in Diana Ross). AND LOOK AT THEM CHEEKBONES!!!!!
White Patchouli is the counterpart to Ford's famous black Orchid (which unfortunately never really worked well with my scent chemistry).
"For this project, I wanted to reinvent patchouli," said Ford. "I loved the idea of mixing patchouli with white florals. We used patchouli orpur, which takes out some of the darker, smoky notes of patchouli. We mixed that with peony, bergamot and jasmine." Additional notes include rose, coriander and ambrette seed.[source]
Though it comes out in September, you can pre-order it here . as much as love Tom Ford and Erykah Badu...$92 is a bit steep for perfume right now. Looks like I'll have to weasel my way into getting some samples from the Sales Associates =)
