Growing up is hard to do...

**I'm going to call this post a lifestyle post since it's not beauty or fashion related but it does deal with having a fashionable home**

Not too recently I moved. I've been living in the same apartment for 18 years (the other two were spent out of the country). I grew up there so moving was kinda tough. What makes the move worse is the fact that I'm still at home- with mom (if you really know me, you know that the rocky relationship between my mom and I is well- rocky to say the least).

I am on the hunt for a better job that way I can get my own apartment-but here lies the issue. Growing up is hard to do in the sense that it is EXTREMELY expensive! I mean living in NY is one thing (I am NOT leaving NYC no matter what anybody says...I love NYC) but than you have to take into account utilities, location, and the ever important furniture.

Now I'm too lazy to walk into furniture shops (is that what its called??) and quite frankly too gullible and would walk out with like the $1,548,705,487 worth of furniture (hehehe). In comes in the ever almighty - Internet.

Browsing the 'net, you (or I) find the oddest (but nicest) sites. E Furniture Showroom has some really great stuff. When my mom was setting up the apartment the most important room (in her opinion) was the living room. It had to be PERFECT no matter what the cost. I kinda agree. This is where you entertain company, blah blah blah. E Furniture has some really nice and chic living room furniture. No matter what, my (and in my I mean MY- as in two years from now when I graduate college) living room has to have a bangin' coffee table. Something nice and chic where I can spread my Vogue, Harper's, Allure, Essence, and Ebony. Something nice enough for me to have to give my guests coasters for their drinks. Something like this

My pick for most important room would definitely have to be the bedroom. I don't know about ya'll but I practically LIVE in my bedroom. I need something very chill and relaxed BUT I must have really bright funky colors and art in my room (weird mix). How cool is this Cedar Chest for bedroom furniture

And should, two years from now, this little old blog of mine take off like I want it to, I'll need my own little at home office space (dare to dream, non?) So for my office furniture I'd HAVE to get a really cool at home office. I don't quite have an idea what it would look like as yet but, this was a really cute desk (hehe)
For now I'll just have to settle for this:
(I actually need/want something like this). This office stuff is really good for me now since I am a student and do need a new computer desk (!) as in ASAP.

so welcome to another one of my random life posts.

Ahhh, you sound like me a few years ago. Those early 20's are quite tumultuous. I'm talkin' like I'm 50 but I really know what you mean.

I moved away from my parentals when I was 18 and went straight to the dorms. Then at 20 I thought I was grown and wanted to get an apartment. But because I Was unprepared, I ended up sleeping on the floor of my luxurious apartment for 3 months because I couldn't afford a bed! LOL..but it didn't matter. I suggest checking out CraigsList.com. People act like real snoobs when it comes to purchasing used items but they deals you can are innumerable!
