I've been feeling quite bored with life in general lately and so I've decided to get a pet. I wanted a Yorky but my mom said no...a kitten and she claims it'll shed all over her living room...so we agreed on a fish.
I named it Dori (Finding Nemo..anyone [cricket cricket]...ok then...)
I'm really excited because the last time I had a fish, I was 10 and it died (my brother told me if I toasted bread and dropped little crumbs in their the fish would eat it...it didn't)
The only thing is that Dori doesn't look like Dori (from the movie). I got a goldfish (exciting, I know) but I loved Dori and can relate to her (yes I said it...I can relate to an animated fish).
Why all this ramble? Because a) my golden friend has inspired me to wear orange lippie...mixed reaction- review coming soon and b) because I found this site that I think I should share- should you already have a fish or get bored with life and decide to get one. (always looking out for you my friends).
Not to mention I'm looking actually get a Dori and a Nemo as in the real fish:

The actual fish look like this
Nemo:
Dori:
Blue TangThe deal with these fish are that they are considered "exotic" fish and are saltwater fish (goldfish are coldwater fish). To find Dori and Nemo, I found Reef Hot Spot. They're based out of Los Angeles but you can also visit the Saltwater Fish Store and order online.
They have such a great collection of aquarium saltwater fish and
Live coral. Now me personally, I'd be to scared to touch any coral reef thingies...they look kinda creepy
(scary looking coral reef thingie)

(scary looking coral reef thingie) But seriously, I love this site and if I weren't afraid I'd buy my fish from them. But I have this thing about buying animals online (delivery??? can they die??) This website, though, answered some of my questions and in case you're wondering
"... Hot/cold packs are included. We check the weather at transfer points and destinations for each shipment...Buying saltwater animals online is cheaper for the customer and better for the animals. Saltwater fish and corals are stressed anytime they change water because the chemistry of their own bodies needs to adjust to the chemistry of the water that they will be housed in. That is why slow acclimation of saltwater fish, especially, is so important. Buying saltwater fish and corals online from a quality store gets the animals from the ocean to your aquarium with fewer water changes, less stress and more vitality. Our saltwater fish and live corals are packed after 5 PM PST and we ship FedEx Priority Overnight. Our shipments average 14 hours en route from our tanks to yours. We pay a premium for Priority Overnight service. We think you new animals deserve it."
So the fish are being taken cared of while en route.
So kudos to Reef Hot Spot. They seem to have great policies in terms of buying, shipping, etc.; have a variety of beautiful fish to order and tons of info about the fish and maintaining it; and the site is easy to navigate.
But for now we'll see how my little old goldfish does. I think I'm gonna change the name...I'm thinking Electro (MAC anyone??...anyone...)
