Ce soir est notre soir...

...heyyy what do ya' think? Me? Speak French? YUP!! 4 years in high school baby!

Anywhoo...

I don't know about you all but I was/ am one of those cheesy girls that secretly (or not so secretly) thinks (and plans) her wedding. Even though I spent most of my youth in baggy jeans and my older brother's T-shirts, anytime i wasn't with the boys I was in my room with Suzie and Theresa (I refused to call her Barbie..hehe) making faux weddings. I remember cutting my white T-shirts to make little "wedding" dresses (and some really cute tube tops!).

This fascination with weddings only intensified when I was apart of the wedding party for my older cousin/ brother's godmother. I loved going to the rehearsals and being with my cousins. I loved the fittings for the dresses (her mother was a dress maker so she literally made everyone's dress). It was a pale blue dress with emerald rhinestones along the sides. It looked so promising when she was sewing them and I was excited about them-up until I saw the finished product. Sorry, cousin, but those dresses were horrible!!!! When I say bad...I mean BAD!!!

First, the sleeves were so puffy it looked like somebody stuffed the shoulders with inflatable shoulder pads. The bodice of the dress was really pretty and simple but the farther south you went on the dress, the uglier it got. The dress itself was poufy on the bottom so I looked like a swollen mess. The sad part was only the girls my age had such horrifying dresses. The older bridesmaids had these beautiful one shoulder dresses. You have noooo idea how badly I wanted to snatch their dresses or step on the mini train so it would tear- evil..I know. But if us younger ("cuter") gals couldn't look fly...no one can!I shudder at the slightest remembrance of that dress. I gladly handed it over to my mother so she can send it to another cousin of mine in Haiti (she thought that dress was absolutely gorgeous...still don't understand that girl).

But even now, I can tell yo what my future wedding dress will look like (I could tell you but for fear of copycats I won't. Just know that Barbie has a huge influence). I even know the ring- I told you I planned it all out...all my future husband has to do is pay for half (or all if he wants..hehe), pay for the ring, and show up.

But you can have the perfect ring...
And the perfect dress...

But there's something else that's equally as important...the invitations! Now some of you may be thinking...what? But seriously, think about it...

It's your big day. you want everyone to remember it. but guess what...they've misplaced your invitation! So now not only do they not remember when it is, they don't know where it is and how to get there!!!

Dramatic? Yes but you get the picture...

And being that summer is especially notorious for weddings...I figure why not help out! Imagine my surprise when I saw this website,1st Class Wedding Invitations. I seriously fell in love! They have tons(!) of invitations to choose from and each of them are beautiful (I'd hate to be the bride picking and choosing).

But me being me, I've definitely found a few that I'd use for my wedding (it all depends on the theme, color scheme, etc.) So here are my pickings and choosings.

Since purple is my favorite color it's only natural that I'd pick the Purple Castle theme.

This invitation has a picture of a beautiful romantic castle sketched in purple on bright white vellum. The names peek through a die-cut on the bottom as a horse drawn carriage approaches the embossed castle.

All together now...awwwwwwwwwwww

This is whimsy and elegance combined oh so beautifully.

Another invitation that caught my eye is the Aqua bordered invitation. This reminds me of Tiffany's and I'm just crazy about Tiffany's! (and now we all walk to the DVD player and insert Breakfast at Tiffany's)...
No matter what, I know that there will be a Tiffany's inspired something at my wedding and the invite is a good way to go. But honestly, this is a bit too plain for my wedding...

Now these pictures are a bit small only because my computer is so odd and things come out this big on it but on the website there's this cool little zoom feature. This let's you see the quality of the invitations in great detail which is cool because considering the fact that you are ordering them online and not in person- you need all the help you can get!

FUN FACT::: This zoom feature is something no other wedding invitation site has. I've checked out some other sites and sure enough it's just a picture and you can't really see much of it.

So yeah...this was a lengthy post! =) But I mean I can talk about weddings all day...but I have a hot plate of lasagna calling my name

tootlezz

xoxo
