NYFW: Betsey Johnson

Everyone who knows me knows about my love of all things Betsey Johnson. She is one of those designers that seems to never let me down every fashion week. This season it comes to no surprise that I LOVE her fall collection. It's very 80's with the dark beatnik inspired clothes mixed with big, crimped hair and the matte red lips.
Betsey is celebrating 30 years in the business (30 years and she's still got that bubbly energetic vibe of a 20 year old). She even closed the showing archival (read: vintage) pieces that she got from vintage dealers (she even said that she's bad at saving so she had to go to different vintage stores to get her own clothes!). The thing is no matter how "old" her pieces are, it's still very much wearable and true to the Betsey Johnson girl- the dress could be 30 years old but it looks like it was made for this specific collection. "You see there's a timelessness to this stuff."

I love this look. It's very beatnik...dark...yet sexy in an odd way. I could definitely see this being worn in the streets of NYC (specifically the Village). I love the leather like leggings.

This jumpsuit/ overall (whatever) is really cute. I'd wear it! Mix it with some nice wedge sandals and you have instant glam!

This dress looks so modern (yet its not!...vintage people!)

But my fave look overall...I just love this and if I had the guts..I'd totally wear it! Lurex leopard print leggings mixed with a cute jacket! sooooo cute!

I just want to get some of these that way in another 30 years i can pull it out and still look chic (well...my daughter [if I have one] can look chic 'cus I'll be 50 yrs old by then and I don't plan on wearing leopard print leggings at 50)

I love fashion as much as the next girl, but why is everything that is sent down the runway so freakin ugly?

I wouldn't say this is ugly...and remember beauty is in the eye of the be holder.
