Lancome Event

Ok so a couple of days ago, I posted about the events Lancôme will be having during Fashion Week. Well, I was bored, broke, and had a weekly metrocard- so I went to the Christopher Kane event. I'm not gonna lie, I was worried that I'd have to pay or buy something bt...indeed it was free! The only time you paid is if you wanted the new Christopher Kane Juicy Tube and a mascara you would get the newest book by Melissa Walker "Violet by Design" and t- shirt for free.

But just for attending, I got a little goodie bag which included the February issue of Vogue (which I already had but...), the book "Violet on the Runway" by melissa Walker, Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover, and various little postcards.

Not only that but I did meet Selena Breed, the Lancôme spokesmodel. She is super beautiful and super nice...she said she liked my stlye! EAT THAT THE GIRL I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE! ...haha. Here she is:

There were cocktails, cupcakes, and free make overs (so you know I had to get one!). Here is my smokey eye (using green):

The make up artist was really really nice and not intimidating at all. Normally if I'm at a cosmetic counter I normally feel attacked by make up people. they just bombard you with "can I help", "do you need some help", "would you like to test that?". Sometimes I just like to try my make up on in peace. When I do need help though, I don't want the pressure on me and make me feel like I have to buy something (so much for free consultation). but it wasn't like that. Instead she just asked me what my make up regimn was like, she commented me on my good skin, taught me how to properly put on concealor, and then actually taught me how to do the smokey eye look. When she was done, it was "ok have a great time!" but while she was applying my make up she made light conversation. She asked me if I'm enjoying myself (yes), if I'm a model (no, but i want to), told me that I should go for it (thanks). She then told me that every model should know how to properly apply makeup (apparently she did Karolina Kurkova's makeup and learned that Karolina can do her own make up quite exquisitely).

So after a couple of cocktails and champagne (I know reall fancy rite!), getting my makeup done, and speaking to the models (Whitney from America's Next Top Model was there...she's in the plus size division for some modeling agency- I kinda zoned out while she was talking to me...her eyeshadow was just really pretty)

This is Whitney for those who forgot.

Here are some other pictures from the night:

It's a shame i had no place to go (and no money) with my cute makeup. =(
